The Jake Harold 100 page challenge!
Created on: 2008-05-08
I’d just like to say HI to all the people who’ve picked up an issue of Tards at the Camden comics stall, ran by London underground comics. The fresh faced creators attempting to revolutionize the British underground comics scene. Also anyone kicking around bristol this weekend could pick up a copy of tards form their stall at the bristol comic expo! (their website is SHITE but its a big event. it seems their sinst a single compitant web designer in this industry) good times. (and bad times)
ok, its nearing the end of the school year! there’s only weeks to go, only weeks left for everybody in my year to finish their FMP's (final major projects) these projects are huge! if you want the big marks, you give yourself a big project. And I’ve over faced myself somewhat.
I’m not gonna say much about it yet, but I’m working on a graphic novel, a big'un. I expected the story I wanted to tell to take about fifty pages, and I had 12 weeks to do it... this seemed easy as pie! i mean it took tards issue one, five weeks to make, and that was a 38 page story. This seemed a doddle. Until i wrote it... as with each issue of Tards i aim to make it 20 pages long... and end up doubling it. heck Tards issue two is in two parts the story is so long!
What I’m trying to say is this novel is going to be.. ONE HUNDRED pages long. exactly... I hope. one hundred flipping pages! I’ve half done about 30 of them so far. its taken seven weeks to write and do the page layouts. now it just needs drawing. 32 days left=3 pages a day! THREE PAGES A DAY?!
"Jake, your killing yourself." I just thought you ought to know what I was upto as i haven’t posted ina while. wish me luck!
